HAKIM MASSAGE
Hakim is an ancestral massage deriving from the Hakim derviches from Kafiristan, a region in northeast Afghanistan known today as Nouristan.
This energetic massage of the back and face is practised on the massage table with St. John’s wort oil for the back and with a neutral oil for the face. The very slow, repetitive and deep movements bring a deep relaxation, the stretching of the spinal column and the vertebral realignment. This practice also acts on a visceral level and on the internal organs, working on the sympathetic and parasympathetic neurovegetative structures.
DORN MASSAGE
The Dorn method is a vertebral therapy that treats pains in the joints and in the spinal column. This delicate neuromuscular massage realigns vertebrae in the spinal column. During the therapy session, the patient plays an active role making specific movements while the therapist works on his/her vertebrae.
During the treatment, the therapist also focuses on re-balancing pelvis, knees and ankles. The goal of this technique is to:
- support the spine column natural posture
- correct any possible imbalances in the pelvic bone or any leg length discrepancy
- correct a bad posture or realign vertebrae
- relieve joint pains
- relieve pains caused by blocked nerves
- contribute to the regeneration of the vertebral discs
The Dorn massage is often practised as a complement to the Hakim massage.
